Made in the Kitchen
Recent COVID lockdown circumstances isolated myself literally in the kitchen instead of my studio that forced me to dive into housekeeping routine without any choice. "Made in the Kitchen" project results from my artistic research conducted by using kitchen utilities.
Flowers
2021
Mixed media: pigments mixed with spices and olive oil on the raw canvas
variable size
Flowers often decorate gender relations and force to follow socially predefined roles. At the same time, biologically most flowers are self-sufficient as they have reproductive organs of both genders and can reproduce themselves independently, pestles mean female sexual part. Naked pestles look unprotected and vulnerable, but exposed vulnerability indicates strength. The ongoing series "Flowers" is painted with olive oil mixed with spices and colour pigments.
